Girls Varsity Swimming · Girls Varsity Swimming finishes 4th place at Region VIII Championship


The girls represented the school well at the Region 8 Championship Meet.
Mallory McKell, Makayla Cazier, Ally Cook, Melody Cazier took 2nd and broke the school record in the 200 Medley Relay with a 1:55.22.
Melody Cazier took 1st in the 200 Freestyle with 1:57.85 and 1st in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 5:23.08
Ally Cook took 2nd in the 200 IM with a time of 2:15.12 and 1st in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 59.63
Mallory took 6th in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 1:01.75
Makayla Cazier took 1st in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 56.39 and 1st plus breaking the school record in the 100 Backstroke with a time 1:08.22

The meet was finished with an incredible race in the 400 Freestyle Relay. Melody Cazier led of the relay taking the lead with a split of 55.04, Mallory dove in and swam a 1:01.50, but Wasatch caught up and took the lead. Ally Cook dove in and swam a 55.88, but Wasatch still held onto the lead. Makayla Cazier went in and as the anchor and caught up and blew past Wasatch with a split of 52.92. MMHS finished with an incredible time of 3:45.16 setting a new school record by 6 seconds.

It has been a great season for all swimmers on the team!
