Maple Mountain Golden Eagles Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 4-2 loss to Provo on Tuesday. Provo scored on a fielder’s choice by Irvin Gonzalez-Robles in the first inning, a walk by Aiden Sanders in the first inning, and a sacrifice fly by Matthew Rhineer in the second inning.

In the first inning, Provo got their offense started when Cooper Littledike induced Gonzalez-Robles to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.
Cole Mason was on the hill for Provo. The pitcher allowed eight hits and two runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out ten.
Littledike toed the rubber for Maple Mountain Golden Eagles Varsity. The hurler allowed one hit and four runs over two and a third innings, striking out three. Josh Crandall threw three and two-thirds innings in relief.
Maple Mountain Golden Eagles Varsity collected eight hits on the day. Jackson Hollingshaus and Zach Johnson all managed multiple hits for Maple Mountain Golden Eagles Varsity. Johnson and Hollingshaus all had two hits to lead Maple Mountain Golden Eagles Varsity.
